This summer has been hot. Another heatwave has recently hit the UK, so naturally talk of hosepipe bans have been rife within the headlines; gaining traction as the increased threat of drought begins to take hold. Yorkshire Water have just announced a ban, with states of ‘prolonged dry weather’ declared in Oxfordshire, Berkshire, and Surrey.
And whilst it’s great to go out and enjoy the sun – hosepipe bans are bad news for gardeners. So, how is it possible to keep plants watered despite the restrictions? Our Boston Planters are really unique in this regard: they include a self-watering system!
Self-Watering?
- A specially designed insert tray is placed in the base of the pot.
- This creates a water reservoir to keep the soil moist.
- Ensures the plant thrives even when regular watering is not possible.
How Does it Work?
The capillary action of the compost draws water from the reservoir, which, in turn – provides moisture to the rest of the pot:
Not only this, but our Boston range is available in a range of sleek, contemporary designs and colours.
